Helpful Tips

The following are window measuring guidelines. If you require any assistance we will be happy to help you out.

CURTAINS

• Always use a metal tape measure as fabric ones tend to stretch.
• Measure the width of the track or pole.
• If you haven't installed the pole yet, add 6" on either side of recess to be covered.

DROP
In most cases, the amount of drop is a personal preference. Most typically, the drop will be either sill length or floor length.

• Sill length should be measured just above sill so as to allow for movement
• Floor length should be measured approximately 1 cm. above the floor.

BLINDS

• For a blind to be fitted inside a recess, measure inside the recess at the top of window and at the bottom (not all windows are the same at both ends). We will need to know the smallest so that the blind will move correctly. Then measure the drop from the top of recess to the sill.
• For a blind that is to be fitted outside the recess, allow at least 8 cms (3") either side.
• Measure the drop from top of recess adding 8 cms (3") to the sill again adding 8-10 cms (3-4").
